Chet Baker Chet Baker Quartet (Chet Baker in Paris Vol. 1)
Chet Baker and Paris are terms that, when combined, trigger enthusiasm among jazz connoisseurs. The trumpeter with the melancholic tone and the city of love seemed made for each other when Baker recorded the first of three albums considered classics now in a Paris studio as part of his first European tour in October 1955. The first features, as part of his quartet, the highly talented bebop pianist Dick Twardzik, who died of a heroin overdose a week after the session, aged just 24. Remastered from the original European analog tapes, 180g pressing, original cover and liner notes.
