When vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson went into the recording studio with pianist Herbie Hancock, you could always be sure that the result would be a real musical happening. For the promisingly titled album "Happenings", they teamed up with bassist Bob Cranshaw and drummer Joe Chambers in 1967. The program included six originals written by Hutcherson and Hancock's "Maiden Voyage". The final number "The Omen", for which Hutcherson swapped places with Chambers, was particularly adventurous.

This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original masters, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
