Jackie McLean Action
"Action" is an album by American saxophonist Jackie McLean recorded in 1964 on the coat tails of some of McLean’s best titles ("One Step Beyond" and "Destination…Out!") and released in 1967. Moving on from Bop towards more adventurous music, the sidesmen also come from the school that favors a freer approach and are bursting with energy. The cover design is a negative photographic image by Francis Wolff.
BLUE NOTE TONE POET EDITION: Stereo, produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analogue master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe tip-on jacket.
