Booker Ervin Tex Book Tenor
"Tex Book Tenor" is an album by American jazz saxophonist Booker Ervin featuring the last performances Ervin recorded as a leader in 1968 for the Blue Note label. The session was first released in 1976 as a double LP "Back from the Gig" combined with a 1964 session recorded under Horace Parlan's leadership and had to wait until 2005 for its first standalone release on CD. With a quintet featuring Woody Shaw, Kenny Barron, Jan Arnet, and Billy Higgins the Texas-born saxophonist slices through a set of captivating bandmember originals.
BLUE NOTE TONE POET EDITION: Stereo, produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analogue master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe tip-on jacket.
