Tenor saxophonist Stan Getz recorded some of the bossa nova classics in the early 1960es with co-stars such as João Gilberto, Antônio Carlos Jobim, Charlie Byrd, Luiz Bonfá and Astrud Gilberto. In 1962, however, he also surprised with a bossa album in big band style, for which the brilliant Gary McFarland wrote rousing arrangements.
