These days, it's almost forgotten that jazz recordings also appeared on 45 rpm singles in the last century, not least to fill popular jukeboxes. This 2-CD set collects all the singles with which tenor saxophonist Ike Quebec celebrated a resounding comeback on Blue Note Records starting in 1959. With these singles, Quebec built on his successes of the mid-1940s, when he earned a reputation at Blue Note as the "King of Jukebox Hits." Remastered by Kevin Gray from Rudy Van Gelder's original tapes, this 2-CD set in jewel case includes a 36-page booklet with previously unpublished photos by Francis Wolff and an extensive essay by Loren Schoenberg.
