LIMITED TRANSPARENT BLUE LP
It was rumored that the film composer Ennio Morricone was not a great fan of jazz and that he couldn't have done too much with the idea of improvisation. That may be true on the whole, but there were always great jazz musicians and jazz influences with him.
Crime music with a driving rhythm section and hot brass riffs, like the way the Americans set countless thrillers to music, was in fact a rarity with Morricone. The music for the film “Il bandito dagli occhi azzurri” (The Bandit with the Blue Eyes), which was directed in 1980 by Alfredo Giannetti, is all the more important for his filmography. Morricone fans and jazz enthusiasts alike should look forward to the first LP re-release. Matching the steel-blue eyes of the main character, played by the legendary “Django” Franco Nero, this is a pressing in transparent blue vinyl.
The strictly limited LP was restored and remastered from the original tapes, the cool retro artwork was designed by Eric Adrian Lee, and the inner sleeve features liner notes by leading actor Franco Nero and pianist Enrico Pieranunzi. Criminally good!
